I Really Love These Magnet Tins They’re So Handy

I Really Love These Magnet Tins I have over time collected a few of these little magnetic tins for my craft trolley for quick access to some my craft items. But until yesterday I didn’t realize that they are also a very handy pin tin.   I was busy pinning up a project that I am busy doing at the moment and I was struggling to get these little pins out of there little tiny container they came in. I didn’t want to take all my pins of my old but very strong pin dish (As shown down on the second lost photo of this blog). So I would put them into one of my empty magnetic pin tins. Well I was struggling even more to get them out of the depths of the tin. Then I tipped them into the lid and this made it easier. But ROFL! I saw the magnet on the bottom of the tin and thought “Oh my goodness I have had these all this time and I didn’t realize that ...

How To Make This Christmas Tree Out Of Beads

How To Make This Christmas Tree                                   Out Of Beads To make this beaded Christmas tree you will need the following: -          A foam shaped cone/Christmas tree, -          Small mild steal pins, you will not be able to use normal sewing pins as they are too long for the job. -          Beads, I used imitation pearl beads and seed bead, you just have to make sure that the pins can fit inside the bead holes. -          PVA tacky glue, -          For the tree topper I found a lovely pin with a pink heart on the top. -          I also added some small satin bow and some tulle rosettes. These beaded Chr...

1960’s Hankie Box Made from Cards

1960’s Hankie Box Made from Cards I grew up in the Sixties, hence where some of my influence and ideas come from for our lovely retro, pastel, shabby chic style home. I remember that some lovely little old ladies, friends of my Mothers, made my Sister, and I, a lovely hankie box each. I always thought mine was the prettiest. Lol. They sat on our dressing table, my Sister’s on her side on the dressing table and mine on my side. (It was more like a shorter tall boy, than a dressing table, but I loved it. It was painted white with turquoise doors to match our bed heads). I don’t remember what colour our hankie boxes where or the detail on them but I do remember a special feeling when I would look at its pretty pictures on it, and that it had just as pretty pictures on the inside. It always intrigued me as to how they got the picture on both sides and behind a protective coating. I also loved the way that the picture had been joined together....

Card making in Lockdown

Card making in Lockdown  While in lockdown because of the Covid 19 virus I found it really hard to find decent cards. So I decided it was time to make some cards. I made this one for my Mother for Mothers Day.  I used quite a bit of my pastel card stock for this project but did also use up some of my scrap paper, because you always hold onto you scraps lol.  For the flower box pattern I used my Friskar's straight edge hole punch.  And for the shadowed effect on the edge of the bricks, and some of the tulips and the edges of the window I used some brown craft chalk and dusted it of the a small soft brush.  For the blind in the window I used my Creative Memories Alpine decorative scissors to get this pretty pattern. For the embossing on the pelmet at the top of the window I really had to improvise with this part because I found that I didn't really have many tools for embossing. (Something I still need to invest in, lol, because a crafter, just like a tool ...

Introducing The Pastel Me

A little bit about me, I love my whimsical quirky pastel house and ways.  People that know me say I have a very unique taste. I found my inspirations for my pastel house and style of dress from Kawaii Lolita in Japan and Pinterest. I firstly a Christian lady full of grace and love Jesus very much, I am a Wife and have been married for 39 years and still very much in love, I am a Mother of five Children, 2 of which are in heaven, I am a Grandmother,  I am a Sister, I am a friend,  I am a prayer warrior,  But something that I have also learnt about myself is that  I am full of my Abba Fathers grace, love and His Shalom peace,  I am loved, I am the righteousness of God, through Jesus Christ finished works. I am forgiven, I am strong and courageous (Joshua 1:9), I am not just an ordinary Child of the Most High God, I am a Daughter of the Most High God, and His treasured Daughter, I am created in the very image of God, and God is a creator God, so I am cr...
