Volendam Netherlands During our last trip around Europe we visited our Cousin and her lovely family in Amsterdam. Amsterdam is such a beautiful very colorful place. While we were there Our Cousin took us to see this very quaint little fishing village called Volendam. It was just beautiful we fell in love with it and just didn’t want to leave, but we had to because our tour guide (our Cousin had more she wanted to show us). Volendam is a Dutch town on the Markermeer Lake, northeast of Amsterdam. It’s known for its colorful wooden houses and the old fishing boats in its harbor, which is lined with seafood vendors.
