Hopetoun Tearooms In Melbourne Is Just Devine.
For many
years now in the leading up to my Birthday I have always promised myself that I
would go to the Hopetoun Tearooms but I never made it. Then the unimaginable happened,
during Covid Lockdown last year in 2020 the Hopetoun Tearooms went into receivership,
this we devastating news to me.
Then I took
my Daughter into Melbourne to see all the Christmas decorations and Myers
window. When we go to Melbourne we always walk through a lot of the very
beautiful old malls that Melbourne is famous for. And when we got to Collins
Street we went to go through the Block Arcade as we always do.
The Block
Arcade given this name because back in the day if you were anyone you had to be
seen walking the block of Collins Street, Elizabeth Street, Bourke Street,
Swanston Street and then finishing back on Collins Street at the Block Arcade.
Anyway when
we got inside the Block Arcade to our amazement we found the Hopetoun Tearooms
opened and very full. I went into ask how they reopened and the Manager told me
that her boss had brought it. But they would only be in this location until January
and were looking for a new location to open up into. They were hoping for a
venue like “The Bank” because of its similar history to the Block Arcade and
its position.
I ordered
for my main course strawberry and lemon crepes and for my desert I had a carrot
cake. They were very very yummy. They also offered us there Gluten – free
options which they had a lot to choose from but we choose to leave the Gluten –
free option for that meal and just splurge.
Above is the
very famous Hopetoun Tearooms mirror and of course you needed to be seen under
this very glamorous mirror, after all it is all about position isn’t it. Lol
Below is a

Above is the
beautiful Holly (and can be found on Instagram the sugar glider patch sharing
all about her gardening techniques).
Below is a
photo of her Chocolate Raspberry Swiss Roll. One of the things that Hopetoun Tearooms
is famous for is turning a simple cake and presenting it as a piece of art,
just beautiful and Holly loved it. She also loved her pot of tea and was so
grateful that it came in a pot because it was that nice she wanted more of it.
We can
totally recommend the Hopetoun Tearooms for anyone. The meals and cakes we had
were very yummy and the service was very friendly and they made it all about
you. While we were there, a young couple came in and was celebrating their first
wedding anniversary and they had ordered the high tea, it certainly looked
really good as well. But you do have to pre book for the high tea service. There
was every age group represented in there, and the place was a busy little
beehive, as it always has been every time I have walked past it. And you
usually have to queue to be seated especially on the weekends.
The prices
were responsible, I must say because of their name and the shops position I was
expecting the total of our order to a lot more. All up I paid just under $60
for our two main meals, two cakes and two pots of tea, that I felt was very
responsible and also around the same price I paid for most meals out these
days. I am defiantly going back there and can recommend the Hopetoun Tearooms
to anyone, it is really worth it.
I do hope
and pray that you all have a blessed week.
