Making The Flocking For The Train Layout

To make your own foam foliage you will need the following items:

·     An electric blender

·     Foam

·     A large mixing bowel

·     A mixing spoon

·     A 250ml measuring cup

·     1 Tablespoon to measure with

·     Acrylic paint (whatever colours you need your foliage to be).

·     PVA glue

·     Water

·     Paper towel

·     Plastic sheets (or plastic tarp, I used plastic garbage bags)

·     Plastic disposable storage containers

·     Rubber kitchen gloves

·     Mask (because a lot of dust comes from the breaking down of the foam)

Firstly break up your foam pieces if they are large pieces. You need them to be no larger than 1 to 1 ½ centimeters, just so that when the foam is in the blender it breaks up easier and smaller.

Put your mask on and place one cup of foam into your blender and turn on and leave it until it has been broken down into a desired size you are wanting for your trees or flowers. I actually did half mine in a fine size and then made a second batch that was even finer. You may have to shake your blender a little to move the foam around, to get it to break down a little more evenly.

Put your While you are waiting for the foam to break down pour into a large bowl a tablespoon of the colour paint you require, half a tablespoon of PVA glue, and half a cup of water and mix together. Once the foam is broken down to the required size trip it into the paint into the bowl of paint mix. Stir and push the foam into the paint mix until you can see that the foam has absorbed all the liquid up.

On your table or side board place your plastic sheets (or tarp or garbage bags), on the table and then place the paper towel on top of them. This is for drying your coloured foam on.

Know with you rubber gloves on, pickup a handful of the coloured foam and squeeze out the liquid out of the foam and place on the paper towels to dry. Drying time will take approximately 24 – 36 hours depending on the season you are making your foliage in and also depending on how well you squeezed out the liquid from the foam. I speed up the process a little by using a small electric heater, as I did this job in the winter.

Now your foam foliage is now ready to use and add to your trees, shrubs, bushes, plants and flowers.

I do hope you found this really helpful. I did try out some other techniques but they were a complete fail. I found that this technique work very well for me. But if you have any question please feel free to ask and leave your comments below. Enjoy and have fun creating.

May Abba Father bless you all abundantly, in Jesus name I pray, Hallelujah and Amen.

Who Remembers The Mr Whippy Van

Who Remembers The Mr. Whippy Van Who remembers the Mr. Whippy van driving around the neighborhood of Melbourne, Victoria? I do, it was one of my precious memories of growing up. He would play his music on his loud speaker so that everyone no matter where you were could hear that Mr. Whippy was coming. We would all run out of the house so watch him coming especially on those really hot afternoons. While you would wait you could see all the other children and parents running out to their nature strips to purchase one of his yummy soft serve ice creams. Sometimes my parents would buy us all one and sometimes they wouldn’t. Now as a grownup I realize that they couldn’t always afford to buy us all one. But that still didn’t stop us from running out to watch Mr. Whippy do his thing. Mr. Whippy looked the splitting image of Elvis Presley. We used to think he had left his job and come to serve us ice cream and sing to us in Tottenham. Because we didn’t r
