         He Looks After Us Even While We Are Sleeping

Did you know that Abba Father still sends His ministering angels down to us each night while we are sleeping and that He places His shield over us to protect us also while we are sleeping? He really cares for our every need, not just our every need for our day but also for our night time, for our rest.

There are a few Scriptures in the Bible that tell us this.

Genesis 28:10-15

Jacob’s Dream at Bethel

¹⁰ Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Harran. ¹¹ When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. ¹² He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. ¹³ There above it^[a] stood the Lord, and he said: “I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. ¹⁴ Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.^[b] 15 I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

John 1:51

And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”

Notice is says; “hereafter” and yes here it is saying that they will see God’s angels ascending and descending upon the Son of Man. I believe that this promise is for us, and for two reasons I know this promise is for us. The first one is because it says in John 4:17b; “As He is so are we in this world.” And the second reason is because of Jacobs dream we can claim this promise for ourselves. For Jacob was an ordinary person, just as we are who believed in the same Abba Father that we do.

Each night before I go to sleep I repent of my sins and thank Him for His everlasting forgiveness and for making me the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus my Lord and Savior to Him be the glory forever and ever, Hallelujah and Amen.

At this point if I have anyone who is on my mind I give them into the Lord’s nail pierced hand and ask Abba Father to fully restore them to full health and make them strong and steadfast as it says in 1 Peter 5:10b.

I then thank and praise Abba Father for this day that He made for me and all of that was in it. Then I praise Him for this night that He has given us to lay our weary heads and have rest in Him.

I thank and praise Him for the His shield that He places over my Husband and myself and for protecting us.

I then praise Him for sending His ministering angels to minister to us and for all that He has for us, I thank and praise Him that He feeds us and nourishes our souls.

I then ask Him to give me the dreams He wants me to dream and that He would speak to me and help me to hear His voice through this night while I am sleeping and to give me His shalom peace, His rest and wake me up in the morning fully restored to full good health ready for the day that He has made for me.

Here are some other Scriptures in the Bible to help you know that Abba Father doesn’t sleep or rest while we are sleeping or resting and that He is watching over us and as I said before He’s ministering to us.

Did you also know that our best healing comes while we are at rest in Him. This is not only a promise from Abba Father but is also and has been proven scientifically.

God the Help of Those Who Seek Him

A Song of Ascents.

Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

²⁴ When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.

 

Matthew 11:28-29 New King James Version

 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

 Psalm 127:2 New King James Version

It is vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up late,
To eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep.

 I pray that you will know Abba Father’s true Shalom peace and rest in Him and wait on His full restoration, for this is the Fathers heart for us all. In Jesus name I pray. Hallelujah and Amen.
