Life Is A Precious Gift & to be Celebrated

Life Is A Precious Gift & to be Celebrated

This Easter season has been two things that the Holy Spirit has given me to reflect on. One is that the boulder or the rock has been rolled away from the tomb and is an empty grave and empty prison that Jesus set us free from and like Lazarus Jesus has called us out of our tomb our prison. All we have to do is hear His voice calling our name and take the free gift of life that He has given us as a gift a present. The bolder that has been rolled away for us is a present that has been unwrapped, undone for us.

The second thing that I hold dear to my heart is something that Pastor Joseph Prince from New Creation Church in Singapore taught a few years ago one Easter Sunday from:

 John 20:6-7

Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.

It really does help us if we know the customs of the time of Jesus. Here Jesus was speaking their language by leaving the head cloth or the handkerchief separate and folded.

Some say this means that Jesus wasn’t stolen because if He was stolen no one would have taken the time to fold a cloth, it would have been just thrown down, just as the linen cloths were and it quite possibly means this to.

But what Pastor Joseph Prince was pointing, that back then it was a tradition for the king to screw up his serviette or as is written here his handkerchief at the table, it told the servants waiting who were hiding around a corner where the guests or the king couldn’t see them, but the servants could see the king and when he was finished eating and drinking. Then his servants would come and clear up everything even if everyone else had yet finished.

But if the king folded the handkerchief, as Jesus did, it meant that he was not finished and was coming back. So yes Jesus the King of Kings is finished but He is coming back for us.

So yes there are so many reasons for us to celebrate not only at Easter but also all year around. Every day is a gift, every breath is a gift, and everything we are is a gift given to us to celebrate. So take hold of your life and just live it, live it to every potential, celebrate every mile stone, every precious moment, every Birthday, every Happy Un Birthday, every 21st Birthday, every Christmas, every Easter, everyone that is around you, every Wedding, every Engagement, every Anniversary, every Birth, every new beginning and every holiday, don’t let anything hold you back for the door has been opened, the gift has been given and you have been called forth to live and enjoy.

You haven’t been called to sit and wait for Jesus’ return but to go forth and be fruitful and live and life of abundance full of life full of good health all the days of your life.

In Jesus name Hallelujah and Amen.

Who Remembers The Mr Whippy Van

Who Remembers The Mr. Whippy Van Who remembers the Mr. Whippy van driving around the neighborhood of Melbourne, Victoria? I do, it was one of my precious memories of growing up. He would play his music on his loud speaker so that everyone no matter where you were could hear that Mr. Whippy was coming. We would all run out of the house so watch him coming especially on those really hot afternoons. While you would wait you could see all the other children and parents running out to their nature strips to purchase one of his yummy soft serve ice creams. Sometimes my parents would buy us all one and sometimes they wouldn’t. Now as a grownup I realize that they couldn’t always afford to buy us all one. But that still didn’t stop us from running out to watch Mr. Whippy do his thing. Mr. Whippy looked the splitting image of Elvis Presley. We used to think he had left his job and come to serve us ice cream and sing to us in Tottenham. Because we didn’t r
