Fear Not For I Am With You.
Psalm 27:1/Psalm chapter 27, verse 1.
27 ‘The Lord is my light and my
salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?’
Here in
this Bible verse it is talking about fearing other people.
The Lord
truly knows me and knows that when He asked me to share all that He has taught
me, fear set in and I have kept all of these treasures hidden in my heart for
quite a few years. But not anymore, it is time to share His truths. I will not
live in fear anymore. It’s not that I don’t care, it’s because I care.
Because
of my fear of what might people think of me and that they might reject me for
thinking so differently to them. For no one wants to know about our Father in
heaven anymore because we have all been lead to believe that He is an angry God,
a God of hate, judgment, condemnation, and fear. I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to know
this type of God but these, as I have found out, are all lies that have been
taught to keep us all away from truly knowing who He is.
For I
have found that He is a God of love, a God of peace, a God of mercy, a God of
truth, a God of comfort, and all He wants for us as any good, good Father wants
for His children is to give us every good gift He has for us.
For me
this is like taking of a mask that I’m sure we all have in some description
that we live behind, that we even hide behind, to protect ourselves. And to
reveal the true you, the true me. “Hello this is me”.
27 ‘Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you;
not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.’
This is
a Scripture in the Bible that brings me great comfort in knowing that our
heavenly Father wants us to truly live in His peace. This is far greater than
the peace that the world knows. His peace is known as His Shalom peace. This Shalom peace comes complete, for us to
have complete peace. When I say complete peace it comes with healing,
protection, comfort, and provision, all that we need to give us complete peace.
Without healing, or protection, or comfort, or provision for whatever is bringing
us to this fear, it won’t bring us peace. And then and only then we can feel
His Shalom, true peace.
10 ‘Fear not, for I am with
you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
Up until a few years ago I believed that we were to fear the Lord and I
did. But then when I started learning all about Jesus’ love for us and His
grace, it made no sense to me that we would have to fear the Lord, when He is
our loving heavenly Father. And that He only wants to do good for us. This
really didn’t gel with me. So I looked into what “fear” meant in the Bible and
in that journey I found that the word “fear” has so many different meaning in
the Hebrew and the Ancient Greek languages, depending on the context that it
was written in (And you can find many teachings on this that go into great
detail on the internet, so I won’t go into all those detail, I will let you do
your own research and have your own journey). But the context that made sense
to me was to “Fear the Lord” can mean reverence, revere, awe, respect, realization
or even knowledge.
So next time when you read the Bible ask yourself which phrase belongs in
with this text of “Fear of the Lord”. Does revere the Lord make more sense in
this text?
This is some of my Bible Art Journaling that I have drawn for this Scripture I have wrote about today.
I pray that you would know that you are truly loved,
I pray that the Lord will bless you abundantly with all you need for today.
Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Hallelujah and Amen.
