A Whole New World With The 3D Laser Printer

It's A Whole New World

Our 3D Laser Printer has arrived

Well during this week my Hubby and I received our new Flashforge, Dreamer, 3D Laser Printer. Now all the printing fun to begin.

Why a 3D Laser Printer you ask? Well during this time of the COVID-19 virus we have found it hard to find the things that I have needed for our HO Scale train layout/diorama and if we have found them we have had to wait weeks for them to come. Also back in 2004 when I first starting making the train layout/diorama I got a train station sign made. It was laser printed and the company doesn't exist anymore and I haven't been able to find anyone else who does them. In my research for another sign like the one we already have I found that 3D laser printing has now been made more portable for us to have in our own homes. Unlike the ones that where just made for the size of a factory. So yes I'm catching from behind the times and stepping into a whole new world of 3D laser printing. Oh the possibilities. My first print will be some Ho Scale water tanks.

Just click play see my video below to watch the unpacking of our new baby.

How I Built A Mountain with Toilet Paper And PVC Glue

How I Built A Mountain with  Toilet Paper                             And PVC Glue  There are many techniques to use to cover your mountains and hills, like using plaster of paradise or paper Mache using paper and home made glue. I did give much consideration into using one of these two techniques, but the technique I finally decided to use, was toilet paper and PVC glue. And I am really glad I have. Because now it is finished, it is as hard as a rock but light like fibre glass. It was kind of funny at the time choosing this technique been as in this time when I had decided to start doing this, toilet paper was very hard to get and you had to que up to buy just one packet. And no I wasn't one of those people that had an abundance of it left over and needed to figure out how to use it...

How To Make Vines Out Of Rope

How To Make Vines Out Of Rope Hi this is the last in my series of foliage making for a while at least until I start making the farms and park. Today I am sharing how I made my vines. These vines are made exactly the way I made my flowers made with string, only difference is that these vines are made with rope and are obviously so much larger. I needed them large to fore fill the look I was after. So you will need to look through my blog and find the one that is called “How to make flowers with string and flocking”, it was written on January 15 th 2021. The only differences to making these vines is that you will use rope instead of string and when you have finished untwisting the rope to within in 2cm from the bottom you will not be spraying your rope with green paint but with burnt umber paint, (A very dark brown). Also for different effects you may want to ...
